The City is in the preliminary planning stages to perform utility repairs to infrastructure beneath Highway 59 and Highway 108.  This is a joint project with MNDOT.

An advisory committee will be meeting throughout CY2019 to discuss and develop the project.

A public input meeting was held at LREC on April 25, 2019.  Information was shared and there were good questions and comments received from the public.

Another public input meeting was held at LREC on May 23, 2019, at 7:00 p.m.

A third and final public input meeting was held at the Pelican Rapids High School Auditorium on July 18, 2019 at 7:00 p.m.

An advisory committee recommendation will be made to the city council in September 2019.

Update 12-04-2019   The city council has accepted the concept options that were identified as part of the public input meeting process.  Those concepts will now be used to determine the city's cost-share for the Complete Streets part of the project.  Over the next several months the city and MNDOT will move into design phases of the project.

Update 05-19-2020:  MNDOT has selected an engineering/consulting firm for this project. An initial meeting of all partners will be happening soon with the intent of familiarizing all with the scope of the project.  Advisory committee meetings will start Fall/Winter 2020.  There are several community input meetings being planned as a part of the design stages of the project.

Update 08-05-2022:  A virtual pubic meeting was held on April 8, 2021.  At this public meeting the concept plans were presented. Final Plans are now at the 30% design stage.  The 30% plan set consists of 7 documents that are listed at the bottom of this page.
